| Band Parents, Supporters, and Friends,
As we continue the great tradition of the Crossville High School Band, it has become necessary to ask for your financial support more than we ever have in the past. We have been attempting to support and maintain the Crossville Band Program on the same financial level as we did fifteen years ago. The problem is that today’s costs of music, instruments, uniforms, and all the other necessary equipment and expenses have increased beyond our financial means. In more recent years, the financial burden has risen to an all-time high. We have been forced to assume the responsibility of the expenses incurred when we travel to support school athletic events. Due to the increased level of achievement of our band students, we have seen an enormous rise in the expenses associated with travel and lodging for Allstate Band, District Honor Band, County Honor Band, and various other Honor Band activities. We have more students involved in these activities than ever before. The Crossville Band Program provides one of the few opportunities in our community for our children to be exposed to the arts. It is very important that we provide our children with the best music program that we possibly can, and with the same level of excellence that we expect from all the programs in our school. The traditional methods of fund raising no longer enable us to provide
the funding necessary to sustain the quality of the Crossville Band Program
that we have come to expect. We do not receive any funding from the
DeKalb County Board of Education. Therefore, we are now asking for
the financial help of the band parents, alumni, friends, supporters, and
the business and corporate community. We are proposing
the following five levels of contributions to help provide the funds needed
for our band program:
