| The
Crossville High School Band is under the direction of Ron Bearden.
Mr. Bearden is beginning his twenty-fourth year as band director at Crossville.
This year the Band is performing patriotic musical selections including:
"America the Beautiful", You're a Grand Old Flag", "This is My Country",
"This Land is Your Land", "Yankee Doodle Dandy", "Dixie", a percussion
medley of the various Armed Forces Service Songs and " Battle Hymn of the
Republic."
The
Crossville Band held their annual band camp from July 16 - July 27, 2001.
Band camp instructors this year were: Lana Smith, flag instructor
and faculty member at Crossville High School; Michael Leeth, drum line
instructor and percussionist at Jacksonville State University; Genevieve
Smith, woodwind instructor and saxophone player at Auburn University; and
Lindsey Stanford, brass instructor and member of the Million Dollar Band
at the University of Alabama. All of the instructors are former Crossville
High School band members. The Crossville Band is participating in
the DeKalb County Marching Festival, the Pell City Marching Festival, and
the Covered Bridge Marching Festival in Oneonta.
